HomeTransfer CentreOfficial: Mayele Lands New Club

Official: Mayele Lands New Club

Prolific striker Fiston Kalala Mayele has joined Egyptian Premier League side Pyramids FC from Young Africans SC.

Mayele, 29, had been subject of interest from across Africa’s elite after becoming one of the most clinical goal scorers across the continent.

He was linked to North African clubs such as Raja CA, Wydad AC, Esperance and Zamalek, while there were also rumours about a potential move to Kaizer Chiefs.

But the Egyptian side have won the race as they look to bolster their attack for their maiden CAF Champions League campaign next season.

iDiski Times understands that a total package of around $1.5-million (R27 million) for transfer fee and potential wages over a three-year contract sealed the transfer.

Yanga held an agreement of a sell-on clause with AS Vita, so the final transfer fee, said to be $800,000 (R14 million) with add-ons that could reach up to $1-million (R18 million) – will also see the Linafoot side pocket a healthy percentage.

The 29-year old striker scored 32 goals in 38 games for Yanga last season across all competitions.
