Official: Stellenbosch Confirm Second 24/25 Signing

Stellenbosch FC have confirmed the signing of midfielder Sanele Barns from Richards Bay on a long-term deal.

The 27-year-old featured in 35 matches for the Natal Rich Boyz last season, scoring six and providing seven assists in the process. He also played a pivotal role in helping Bay preserve their topflight status through the PSL/promotional playoffs.

Stellies CEO, Rob Benadie was quoted on the club’s website expressing their delight at acquiring Barns’ services, saying they are confident the player will have a positive impact in the Cape Winelands.

“We are delighted to welcome Sanele to the club,” Benadie told the club’s website.

“He was one of the standout performers in the league last season and we are excited to add a player of his calibre and experience to our squad, especially as we embark on our first ever campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.

“We are looking forward to him making a big impact at the club and have no doubt that he will contribute massively towards our continued success.”

Barns is the second new arrival announced by the club in a space of days after former Kaizer Chiefs academy player Omega Mdaka, as reported by iDiski Times.
