Stellenbosch FC have announced the signing of Kaizer Chiefs winger Kgaogelo Sekgota, the club announced on Saturday.
Sekgota, 26, joined Chiefs from Swallows in 2021 and at some point was labelled as one of the club’s “biggest stars” by Arthur Zwane last season.
But he made no start for Amakhosi in 2023, and only had two goal involvements in 29 appearances across all competitions last season.
Stellies have now given the speedy winger a lifeline and unveiled him as their next signing ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
“Sekgota is a massive signing for us,” head coach Steve Barker told the club’s website.
“He’s a player who we earmarked a while back to try and get into the club, so we are delighted that he has now signed with us.
“He’s an exciting attacking player who has good pedigree, having represented his country, and who has the ability to go past players, to create opportunities for his teammates, and to score goals himself.
“We are looking for a massive impact from him and hope to help him get his career back to where it belongs, which is right at the top end of the game.”
