Mamelodi Sundowns have announced the return of Matias Esquivel back from his loan stint at Argentine top-flight side Talleres de Córdoba.
Esquivel, 25, returned to his native country to get ample playing time under his belt for the season just seven months after his reported $2.5-million transfer from Club Atlético Lanús.
His loan spell however was not quite as he has anticipated after he featured just 12 times without scoring, with his return to Chloorkop now all but confirmed.

Esquivel’s return comes days after Erwin Saavedra was shown the exit door having only played 195 minutes of football this season as he struggled to break into a star-studded Sundowns side.
