Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Matias Esquivel has joined Greek side FC Kifisia on loan for the current season.
The Argentine joined Sundowns from Argentina top-flight side Club Atletico Lanus in January 2024 in a reported €2.3 million (R47m) transfer with high expectations but thus far, has not established himself in the team.

He spent time on loan back in his homeland with CA Talleres but had again returned to Chloorkop ahead of the 2025/26 season.
However, Esquivel has now completed another loan deal, joining FC Kifisia in the Greek Super League.
“FC Kifisia announce the start of cooperation with Matias Eduardo Esquivel, who plays as a midfielder,” the club stated, as translated from Greek
“Matias Esquivel signed a one-year contract. PAE Kifisia welcomes him to its family and wishes him health, luck and every success.”
Esquivel made 16 appearances for Sundowns, scoring two goals and setting up one more.
