On Wednesday, Masandawana finally announced the arrival of Rayners, after Stellies had already confirmed the sale last week.
Sundowns activated Rayners’ buyout clause after being informed he was not for sale by Stellenbosch but had to move swiftly due to interest from Esperance Sportive de Tunis and USM Alger in recent weeks.
Rayners has signed a three-year deal with various options on his contract, becoming their fifth signing of the current transfer window after Kobamelo Kodisang, Arthur Sales, Kegan Johannes and Asekho Tiwani.
