Official: Wydad Confirm Rulani’s First Four Signings

Wydad Athletic Club have announced the first four new signings for head coach Rulani Mokwena.

The Moroccan giants started training on Wednesday, but were also active off the pitch, announcing four new new arrivals.

Among the new signings is Abdelali Mhamdi, a 32-year-old goalkeeper. Mhamdi joins the club from Saudi First Division side Al-Batin.

The former RS Berkane shotstopper comes with vast experience and also won the Throne Cup in 2017/18.

In addition, Mokwena’s side signed left-back Jawad Khalouk. The 26-year-old joins from COD Meknes, who got promoted to the Botola Pro this past season.

Wydad also brought in a new right-back in Mohamed Moufid, who joins the club from ASFAR, where he won the league title in 2022/23 and the Throne Cup 2020/21.

Last season, Moufid made 22 appearances under Nasreddine Nabi before his switch to Kaizer Chiefs.

Lastly, the Moroccan giants also secured the services of winger Mohamed Rayhi, who has vast experience and good goal record.

The PSV youth product joins from Saudi First Division side Al-Jabalain FC, where he netted eight goals and set up four more in 35 appearances.

In addition to the new players, Wydad also assembled a new technical team for Mokwena, which includes Alan Freese as Technical Advisor.
