Wydad Athletic Club have announced the signing of former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil.
Last week, Sundowns released the 26-year-old who had expressed his desire to return home, as previously reported by iDiski Times.
Boutouil has agreed personal terms with Wydad on a two-year deal with an option to extend by a further season, which will see him represent all of the ‘big three’ after stints with ASFAR and Raja Athletic Club prior to his move to Sundowns.
At Wydad, he will reunite with Rulani Mokwena, as the club announced his arrival on Thursday.
The robust defender was a regular under Mokwena at Chloorkop, making 31 appearances for the club, scoring once since his move in July 2022 from SC Chabab Mohammédia.
