Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has downplayed rumours of Mbekezeli Mbokazi leaving to join Chicago Fire, insisting the defender is one of his most important players.
Over the weekend, news broke that Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire had table a massive $3 million (over R50 million) offer for Mbokazi to sign the young defender in January, as per Mark Gleeson.

It was further claimed that Mbokazi and hus agent Basia Michaels had traveled to America last week in a bid to conclude the deal.
However, when asked about the situation, Ouaddou insisted he doesn’t know anything about it and still counts on the centre-back as one of his most important players.
“What I can tell you, I’m not aware about this news,”
“For me, Mbokazi is still in my group. Today, like I just I rotate the players. He’s one of the most important players in my group.
“For me, he’s still with me and that’s it. He’s still my player.”
