Newly promoted DStv Premiership side Polokwane City are looking to bring in Manuel Kambala from Magesi FC.
Kambala, 31 joined Motsepe Foundation Championship side Magesi FC in January on short-term deal and made 14 appearances for them.
The former Baroka FC midfielder played a crucial role in making sure that ‘Dikwena Tsa Meete’ survive relegation, as they finished in 12th place.
Many will remember Kambala for denying Kaizer Chiefs their league title on the last day of the 2019/20 season, when he scored the 1-1 equaliser that prevented Amakhosi from lifting the trophy under Ernst Middendorp.
The Mozambican international made 72 appearances for Baroka, but was part of the squad that got relegated in May 2022.
This publication understands that Polokwane City are looking to bring in Kambala for the upcoming 2023/24 season after already securing the signing of Oswin Appollis from Pretoria Callies.
The news come a day after the club made the surprise decision to part ways with veterans Mpho Makola and Joseph Mhlongo. The duo add to the more than 10 players the club have released already.
