The Premier Soccer League (PSL) Dispute Resolution Chamber has officially declared Asanele Velebayi a free agent in the case involving Cape Town Spurs, paving way for his expected move to Kaizer Chiefs.
Spurs had ordered Velebayi, Luke Baartman and Liam Bern to return for pre-season after their relegation to the ABC Motsepe League, stating a case they still had binding professional contracts that they would continue to honour every month despite dropping to the amateur ranks of the ABC Motsepe League.

Velebayi in the document in possession of iDiski Times, from the panel of Mosupi Mashele (Chairperson), Amanda Vilakazi and Adv. Saleem Seedat ruled in favour of the winger in terms of clause 43.1.7 with regards to the evidence laid from both parties.
“The Applicant is declared a free agent,” Mashele ruled.
Baartman, who has agreed verbally to join Chiefs and Bern to AmaZulu still await the outcome of their respective cases, which will be delivered this week under separate panels.
Spurs are now set to take the case further to the South African Football Association but as things stand, would now only be due development compensation fees for the U23 trio who rose through the ranks at iKamva and developed into some of the most promising talents in the country.
