Sangweni Shows Up At Chippa

Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates midfielder Thamsanqa Sangweni has resurfaced at Chippa United.

The 34-year-old was recently with Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League side Peace Makers, who are also a feeder club of Chilli Boys.

Sangweni captained the side to win their stream, unfortunately, they lost to Amavarara in a final match for a place in the provincial playoffs.

The experienced midfielder is currently a free agent and he is allowed to join a team of his choice after his contract with Makers expired.

iDiskiTimes can confirm that Sangweni joined Chippa for their pre-season in Durban, but there’s been no talk of signing a deal as things stand.

If the deal goes through, it will be the sixth time Sangweni would be the sixth time he would join Chippa after three loan spells and two permanent moves.

The Eastern Cape-based side already signed Craig Martin, Luvuyo Memela, Augustine Mulenga and Menzi Ndwandwe ahead of the 2023/24 season.
