Sekhukhune United head coach Lehlohonolo Seema has responded to the reports linking the club with Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sipho Mbule in this transfer window which closes on Friday.
IDiski Times broke the news that Mbule is close to joining Babina Noko on loan after falling down the packing order at Chloorkop, however, the deal is yet to be finalised owing to the player agreeing terms.
On Tuesday Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi said Mbule was training with the seven-time PSL champions after he returned from injury, when asked about the 26 year old.
Speaking after Sekhukhune’s 1-0 Betway Premiership win over Magesi FC in Polokwane Seema couldn’t give a definite answer, if Mbule will be with the Limpopo side, while admitting there may be a few players to be added.
“Let’s wait and see,” Seema said when asked by IDiski Times.
“When is the window closing? So definitely if there is news ja. The rumours [on Mbule] let’s keep it as rumours like that but as long as the window is still open that’s for sure that maybe one or two [players] we can see”.
Seema added that the reinforcements have nothing to do with the side’s participation in the CAF Confederation Cup but the league schedule.
“It’s not even about that,” added the former Lesotho international.
“The games in the Betway Premiership are already going to be on top of each other. We are going to spend two weeks here [Polokwane].
“We are playing four games here so as long as we have depth because injuries will come, loss of form and a lot of things can happen. But it is not about CAF.
“We are just trying to make sure we balance our squad so that in each and every game we can have a good team.”
