Sekhukhune Striker Suspended, Linked With Exit

Sekhukhune United striker Chibuike Ohizu has been suspended by the club and is being linked with an exit this transfer window, iDiski Times has learnt.

The uncertainty around the future of the Nigerian forward at Babina Noko comes despite having penned a new contract with the club towards the end of the last season.

He was set to be out of contract at the end of last season, but the club decided to keep him on, signing him to a two-year extension that will keep him there until June 2027.

This website has been informed that the player is currently under suspension for the reasons that remain tightly under wraps. Furthermore, the 28-year-old centre-forward may be on the verge of a departure before the transfer window closes.

This season, Ohizu has played six matches across all competitions for Sekhukhune – four in the Betway Premiership and two in the MTN8.

He was not part of the last league match where Eric Tinkler’s side defeated Durban City 2-0 at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

Ohizu has been with Sekhukhune since 2020 when he joined from Jomo Cosmos. During his time at the Limpopo club, he netted 30 goals and provided three assists in 117 outings in the process.
