Siwelele FC are assessing former Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC winger Kgaogelo Sekgota.
Sekgotha has been handed a lifeline and started his assessment at Siwelele on Tuesday, with head coach Lehlohonolo Seema watching him closely.
The former Bidvest Wits winger was released by Stellenbosch FC in 2023 following an off-the-field issue and since then he barely spent six months in a club.
He then joined Magesi in the beginning of last season but he was released just five months after joining the club. In April last year, he joined Motsepe Foundation Championship side Upington City but only stayed there for less than four months before he was released again.
He has been without a professional team since July 2025 but kept himself fit, as he played in the ABC Motsepe League with the aim of bouncing back to top flight.
He has now a chance to for another lease on pro football and it remains to be seen whether he can impress Seema during his assessment this month. Siwelele continue their Betway Premiership on 23 January when they will face Richards Bay.
