Motsepe Foundation Championship side Cape Town Spurs have completed the signing of midfield duo Keletso Sifama and Daylon Claasen.
Sifama, 21, rejuvenated his career when he joined Sekhukhune United in September last year on a free transfer after leaving Kaizer Chiefs.
The former Amakhosi youth product came through the club’s development ranks, starring in the DStv Diski Challenge squad before being promoted to the first team where he featured in six games.
Sifama will join his former coach Ernst Middendorp at the Urban Warriors, having worked with the German mentor during his time at Naturena.
Meanwhile, Claasen, 34, has been a free agent after leaving Egyptian Second Division side Wadi Degla FC after joining them in July 2022 from Maritzburg United.
This publication understands that Spurs have roped in the two midfielders, with Sifama joining on a season-long loan from Babina Noko, while the former Bafana Bafana midfielder Claasen joins on a permanent deal.
It will also be a reunion for Claasen and Middendorp, who worked together at the Team of Choice in KwaZulu-Natal between 2019 and 2022. Claasen has come through the Ikamva side’s youth structures, and this move will see him return ‘home’ to where it all started.
The Urban Warriors are boosting their team as they look to bounce back to the elite league. They already started their pre-season and played a friendly with Stellenbosch FC which they won 3-2.
