Stellenbosch Snap Up Ex-Chiefs Defender

Stellenbosch FC have completed the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs youth development defender Omega Mdaka.

Mdaka, 20, has been without a club since Amakhosi terminated his contract in October 2023 for alleged disciplinary issues when he refused to be a ball boy.

Stellies have been busy in the current transfer window period with the addition of players like Sanele Barns from Richards Bay and Lehlohonolo Bradley Mojela from TS Galaxy.

Steve Barker’s side will be competing in five different competitions this coming season in the DStv Premiership, MTN8, Carling Knockout Cup, Nedbank Cup and CAF Confederation Cup.

This publication understands that Stellies have brought in the speedy left winger who has been training with them for a few months.

Stellies lost defender Qobolwakhe Sibande to Galaxy and only have Fawaaz Basadien in the left-back position. Mdaka will be competing with Basadien on the left-back position.
