Mamelodi Sundowns transfer record was smashed in the current window with the fee of Brazilian striker Arthur Sales confirmed at €3.2-million (R62m).
Sales, 22, joined Sundowns in the off-season from Belgian club SK Lommel where he scored 18 goals with five assists in 50 games.

He’s yet to open his account for Sundowns, but there’s high hopes for the forward to become one of their influential scorers going into the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
Transfer Room, the platform where the likes of Marcelo Allende, Tashreeq Matthews and Matias Esquivel’s deals stemmed from confirmed that Sales was a record move for Sundowns.
“For us from South Africa, it’s very important [to be on TransferRoom] because South Africa is very far away,” Sporting Director Flemming Berg explained.
“It’s far away from Europe, it’s far away from South America, which are generally the markets we are looking at buying players but also selling players.
“So, to come here, for me, it’s an opportunity without travelling more than once to meet a lot of people and get some good connections.
“But also, we are Mamelodi Sundowns, we have big visions, and we always try to set the standards and raise the bar for South African and African football in general.
“What you do is, you raise your own platform for buying and selling players and every club needs them.”
Sales was joined by Asekho Tiwani, Iqraam Rayners, Kegan Johannes and Kobamelo Kodisang as the new signings this window.
