Gavin Hunt says it’s a big plus to have Samir Nurković back for their CAF Champions League game this afternoon against Primeiro De Agosto, but won’t put too much pressure on the striker.
It will be Nurković’s first appearance this season for the club, after missing out through injury.
There had also been speculation linking him with an exit from the club, but that was put to bed for now after he penned a new deal.
After a goalless draw in the first leg in South Africa, Hunt says it is important to get on the scoresheet as fast as possible in this game.
“We expect Primeiro de Agosto to be a different side when they play at home, but we need to create chances and get that important away goal as quickly as we can,” Hunt told the club’s website.
“It’s a big plus having Samir Nurković back from injury but he’s not very fit and hopefully we can get him up to speed as soon as we can. We should be careful about putting all the pressure on him, but slowly he will get back to his best.”
Chiefs only had one training session in Luanda since arriving on Sunday.
“We would have liked to train on Sunday, but we were not allowed, we did a bit of preparation in South Africa so the restrictions here in Luanda won’t affect us much.”
“The situation is a bit disconcerting but that’s what you should expect when you play in this competition, so we need to be brave and play positively and hopefully score that important away goal.”
