Kaizer Chiefs Ladies netted an 86th minute winner to shock University of Johannesburg 1-0 at UJ Auckland Park on Wednesday evening.

Amakhosazana made it four wins in a row as they further surge up the league standings in the Gauteng Sasol Women’s Provincial League to further boost their title ambitions.

The Sasol debutants came into this tie following a thrashing 4-0 win over Young Achievers United Ladies last weekend.

In their previous clash, the Glamour Girls saw off FC Raycon 2-0 away at Esiqongweni Grounds on Sunday afternoon having hammered Hallelujah Zebra Force Soccer Team 5-3 at Naturena Village.

Against UJ, it was a tough tussle as the first period between the two sides who failed to cancel each other out.

In the second half, both sides went at each other but still no breakthrough which only came later.

Four minutes before the final whistle blew, Amakhosazana claimed a hard-fought away narrow victory through former Sundowns player Lumka Qhekeka for the three valuable points on the road.

Unathi Mabena’s charges currently find themselves occupying third place in the standings with 30 points from 14 matches, four points behind second-placed Wits University FC.

Mamelodi Sundowns reserves top the league but cannot gain promotion to the Hollywoodbets Super League as they already have a team in the top league, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.
