Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sphelele Mkhulise believes his side go into the MTN8 Final against Orlando Pirates with a psychological advantage.
Speaking ahead of the showdown, Mkhulise pointed to the team’s recent success as a key factor.

“Heading into this game, I think we do have some sort of advantage and upper hand because we recently won a trophy,” Mkhulise said.
The 28-year-old was also quick to point to the stature of the club itself, insisting that Sundowns carry a winning mentality into every contest, no matter the opponent.
“Mamelodi Sundowns will never be underdogs, so that alone will always give us an edge against our opponents. We have the best leadership, coaches and players in the club, so we will always have an advantage.”
The comments underline the confidence in the Sundowns camp as they chase another piece of silverware against one of their biggest rivals. Pirates, for their part, will be looking to spoil the party and lift the trophy themselves.
The game kicks off at 18h00 on Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
