Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster has broken his silence on why he decided to join Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo FC.
Foster has been in Europe since January 2019, when he joined French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco from Orlando Pirates. He spent half the season in France before being loaned to Belgian Pro League side Cercle Brugge, where he spent a season.
In August 2020, Portuguese Vitória Guimarães SC splashed out to sign the South African international striker and since then, he never looked back, playing for clubs like Westerlo and Burnley FC.
After the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Foster completed a move to Houston Dynamo FC, speaking with the club media, he explained why he decided to join them.
“After the World Cup, being in America for some time, I kinda enjoyed the vibe here. I like the people and, more than anything, I just wanted a change of scenery, a place to enjoy football again,” Foster told Houston Dynamo FC media.
“The last two days of the window, my agent said Houston might be interested; I said let’s go. I see where the guys were placed on the table immediately; you think the guys are doing this why is there no reason that we can go all the way?
“But obviously we take it training session at a time, the way that we’ve been playing, the qualities I believe I have I believe that I can just be a piece of the puzzle that fits into the team and hopefully try our best to bring it to the edge.”
