South African striker Keletso Makgalwa was again among the scorers as Steve Barker’s side Simba SC made light work of 15 de Agosto with a 3-0 win in their CAF Champions League second preliminary round second leg on Sunday evening.

The Reds of Msimbazi sealed an emphatic 9-1 aggregate victory to book their spot in the group stages.

Simba faced the Equatorial Guinea side in their CAF Champions League second preliminary round first leg away from home after the game had been postponed over the weekend and came away with a 6-1 thrashing.

On Sunday, another former PSL striker Anicet Oura opened the scoring in the 57th minute before Elie Mpanzu made it 2-0 in the 69th minute. Makgalwa completed the rout in the 78th minute for the three points and clean sheet.

The 29-year-old former Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United has now taken his tally to three goals with a single assist since joining Simba from Babina Noko.

Barker’s team currently tops the NBC Tanzanian Premier League standings with 24 points after winning all their opening eight matches, and lead bitter rivals Yanga SC by four points.

Another South African player Rushine De Reuck also started and completed the match while Neo Maema started from the bench.
