Bafana Bafana forward Relebohile Mofokeng scored the fourth goal for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise who rallied from two goals down to thrash Cercle Brugge 5-2 in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.

Mofokeng started and completed the match as USG avoided their first league defeat of the season at Stade Joseph Marien on Sunday night.

It was a tough night for the hosts who found themselves trailing 1-0 inside the first 25 minutes through Steve Ngoura’s penalty.

Things went from bad to worse for USG who conceded at the resumption of the second period as Massire Sylla turned the ball into his own net in the 48th minute.

The Belgian Super Cup champions hit back with a consolation immediately after conceding with Raul Florucz making it 1-2.

Sylla then turned from villain to hero as he pulled the home side level by making it 2-2 in the 62nd minute.

In the 74th minute, USG took the lead for the first time in the game going up 3-2 after Emmanuel Kakou conceded an own goal.

‘President Yama2k’ got in on the action with his fifth league goal of the season in the 80th minute before notching up his second league assist for USG’s fifth goal through Kevin Rodriguez in the 90th minute.

USG moved into third place with 23 points from nine outings, two points adrift of leaders Gent.

For the South African international it was also a cherry on the cake after he celenrated his 22nd birthday on Saturday.
