Swallows assistant and stand-in coach Fani Madida was full of praise for his team after their 1-0 win over Baroka, a victory that saw them climb off the bottom of the DStv Premiership table.
The former Kaizer Chiefs striker and Besiktas striker was on the bench for a second time, as Dylan Kerr awaits his work permit.
Madida was full of his praise for his team, and says they took advantage of some of the naivety of the Baroka squad.
“A hard game indeed that we played against Baroka, well fought from a Swallows perspective,” assistant coach Fani Madida told the club’s media department.
“Baroka came out of the blocks with a high tempo game, but we maintained the tempo, they couldn’t sustain it the second half, because we then increased our intensity in terms of play, our running and the combination passing.
“Our passing game was very much interesting, we were detailed in what we observed the first half.
“Second half, we came with a plan that we are not going to give them a chance, we get a free kick, we played it immediately, because most of the players that are forming that Baroka squad, are players that are coming from the DDC, others are coming from amateur structures, so they are not yet a professional outfit.
“So, I think we nullified them by getting those flick ons, but we stopped them from getting the second ball, we stopped them from crosses, or we defended crosses very well.”
“The whole team, the midfielders were very outstanding, and the team was very outstanding,” Madida added.
“So we really deserve the win.”
