Orbit College remain top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship after three teams stumbled with their opportunity to go top of the table.
On Friday Platinum City Rovers beat Pretoria Callies 1-0, as Rovers moved above Callies into 14th place.
Upington City jumped to within striking distance of the leaders on Saturday as they thumped JDR Stars 3-1. Orbit College missed an opportunity to pull away as they drew 1-1 with Magesi, while it was goal festival between Marumo Gallants and Maritzburg United, which ended 3-3.
With Orbit drawing, depending on results on Sunday, three clubs had the opportunity to move into first place. But somehow they all three missed the chance.
Both Baroka and Tuks could’ve gone top with a win, but Dan Malesela’s team grabbed a late goal to force a 1-1 draw. Hungry Lions also missed their chance, as they lost 2-1 to Black Leopards.
Meanwhile, Casric Stars beat Venda Football Club 3-1, while La Masia were 3-0 winners over Milford.
