Nurkovic Attracts Interest From New PSL Club

AmaZulu have cast their sights on Samir Nurkovic in a bid to bolster their attacking options for the 2024/25 DStv Premiership season.

After two seasons without professional football, the 31-year-old revived his career at TS Galaxy following a period of uncertainty upon leaving Kaizer Chiefs.

First, it was an ill-fated spell at Royal AM which saw him released without kicking a ball. The club has yet to compensate the player which resulted in a FIFA transfer ban due to their breach of contract.

Then after several training periods, which took him to Cape Town City and Raja Atheltic Club, Galaxy was the first to table a concrete offer after the previous suitors were concerned over his recent knee injuries.

And it’s paid off with 10 goals in 29 games since he penned a deal with the club in September last year – which saw Tim Sukazi’s club activate their one-year option to extend in a bid to not lose him as on a free transfer.

iDiski Times has been informed Usuthu made contact with the club to enquire about his asking price, while several clubs in Scandinavia have also reached out to the Rockets.

Galaxy sold their last season’s top scorer, Djakaridja Junior Traoré to Turkish Superlig side
Istanbulspor after he scored seven goals in 18 appearances in the DStv Premiership.

And it appears the trend may continue, with the club needing to raise funds for another Ivorian, Bernard Yao Kouassi, who has taken the club to FIFA for over an unpaid settlement upon being released by the club without kicking a ball.
