Ex-Chiefs Star Wins 2nd Trophy In Europe

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyanbonga Ngezana has won his second trophy in Romania after FCSB won the Super Cup.

Ngezana, 26, had already helped FCSB to win their first Superliga title in nine years after joining the club from Chiefs ahead of 2023/24.

He featured in 31 games for his new club last campaign and was even named in the official Team of the Season.

On Thursday, Ngezana’s FCSB played Covinul Hunedoara in the Super Cup and beat them 3-0 thanks to goals by David Miculescu, Marius Stefanescu and Luis Phelipe.

Ngezana started Thursday’s match on the bench, but played the final 15 minutes, as FCSB also prepare for their first UEFA Champions League qualifying round against Virtus on 9 July.

They kick off their new Superliga campaign on 13 July against U. Cluj.
