Al Ahly legend Ahmed Fathy believes the CAF Champions League Group B with Mamelodi Sundowns is the Group of Death.
Fathy was part of the Champions League draw at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) headquarters on Monday afternoon.

While his two former clubs Ahly and Pyramids avoided each other, the champions, were drawn in Group C alongside CR Belouizdad, Orlando Pirates and Stade Abidjan.
However, he felt Sundowns’ group with Raja Athletic Club, AS FAR and AS Maniema Union stood out as the toughest to progress to the knockout stages.
“This is the strongest club competition in Africa, and you need to use it to develop these new players for Africa, it shows the best talent in Africa, but it also requires a high level of experience to compete,” he said.
“I think the African Champions League, for me, Group B is a very difficult group, all the best goes out to the teams but I wish to see two teams from Egypt in the final.”
Fathy won 21 trophies with Al Ahly over two stints, which included four Champions League titles.
