Mosimane Opens Up On Esteghlal Challenges

Pitso Mosimane has admitted he hasn’t had much time to prepare his team, while injuries have also lead to his new side losing three successive matches since he started.

The South African tactician saw his side go 3-0 down to Saudi Pro League champions Al Hilal after Aleksandar Mitrovic netted a hat-trick.

It was Mosimane’s third game in charge and his third defeat, and after the match he lamented injuries as one of his challenges since he started.

“Today we saw the big differences between the two teams, and we also lost the services of three main players, and this is not an excuse. We accept the result because we faced a great team,” he said, as per Koora.

“I am unlucky because a number of players have been injured, and it is true that this is part of the game, but it makes the job of any coach difficult.

“Al Hilal is a big team that I have faced before in the Club World Cup, and when you coach a team like them your job becomes easier. For example, I should not tell [Joao] Cancelo how to play crosses, or tell Mitrovic how to score.

“I only had five training sessions and three matches with Esteghlal, and I feel that we have started to develop, and I accepted the job knowing the problems surrounding the team.”
