‘I’m Not Here To Prove Anything To Nabi’

Kaizer Chiefs striker Ashley Du Preez has insisted he has nothing to prove to his club coach Nasreddine Nabi at the Carling Black Label Cup.

Du Preez, 27, started the last four games for Amakhosi under Nabi, and has netted three goals in 10 appearances this season so far.

However, in the last game he was subbed for Ranga Chivaviro at halt-time and, with Nabi still looking for his ideal forward formation, Du Preez was asked whether he wants to show his club coach what he is capable of at the Carling Black Label Cup against Magesi FC.

“It’s a different competition, it’s outside the club,” he stated.

“Whatever happens, happens. I’m not here to prove anything to the coach at Chiefs.

“For me it’s just to come here and enjoy. It’s something different to the club level in the Carling Black Label.

“For me as a player, it’s just to go out there to enjoy and do the best. The result will care of itself.”
