Former Ajax Cape Town coach Andries Ulderink, who has been linked with the Cape Town City head coach role, was in attendance as City drew 1-1 with Golden Arrows on Wednesday night.
Ulderink, who coached Ajax (now Cape Town Spurs) from the end of 2018 until January 2020, has been linked with the City job for a few months, however, until recently was still employed. Last week SABC Sport also reported that Ulderink was in line for the job.
He had been the assistant coach at Scottish giants Rangers, but last month, the club confirmed that he had returned to Holland for personal reasons. Since leaving Ajax, Ulderink had been an assistant at FC Twente and Royal Antwerp before joining Rangers last year.
After Eric Tinkler’s exit, City turned to Muhsin Ertugral, who was appointed as technical director, and interim coach until their new man could start in July.
With the former Go-Ahead Eagles and De Graafschap manager now being available, it is not clear if he will join City at an earlier date.

The 55-year-old watched City’s draw with Arrows at Athlone Stadium. It is believed that Ulderink will spend a few days acquainting himself with the club, before returning to Holland, before coming back to Cape Town in a month or two. City are currently sixth on the Betway Premiership table, having played 16 games.
