Fadlu Davids’ Simba SC have reclaimed the top spot in the Tanzanian Premier League after beating Tanzania Prisons 3-0 on Tuesday.
Simba were overtaken by defending champions Young Africans last match round after dropping points against Singida Fountain Gate.
However, after Yanga themselves dropped two points in a goalless draw with JKT Tanzania on Monday, Simba used their chance to go top again.
And they decided their tie in the first half already, following goals by Jean Ahoua (29), Elie Mpanzu (45) and Ladaki Chasambi (45+3).
Simba now sit on 47 points from 18 games, one more than Yanga from the same amount of matches.
The Tanzanian giants have won 15 games under the South African tactician, drawing two, while losing just one.
On 8 March, the two Tanzanian rivals, Simba and Yanga will face each other in a top-of-the clash.
