Dithejane – Chiefs Coach Was Most Influential In My Career

TS Galaxy midfielder Puso Dithejane has labelled Coach Vela Khumalo as the most influential person in his footballing career.

Dithejane made headlines two years ago when he was released from his contract while still with the Kaizer Chiefs DStv Diski Challenge side for refusing to be a ball retriever.

He was then snapped up by the Rockets and made his senior debut in February 2024 when they beat Golden Arrows 3-1.

The 20-year-old never looked back since as he made 42 appearances for Galaxy, scoring three goals and had six assists.

Dithejane says that Khumalo played a massive role when he got him from School of Excellent and encouraged him to even work harder to be a better player.

“Since I was playing in the DDC league, I told myself that I chose this career, I needed to push and make my parents proud and myself,” Dithejane told SuperSport TV.

“I learned from the DDC that I could play professional football in South Africa, and I made it I am proud of that.

“I was helped by coach Vela [Khumalo], the DDC head coach from Kaizer Chiefs; he helped me a lot. He scouted me from School Of Excellence, and he told me that I’m good and I needed to put more work into what I was doing.”
