Alexander-Arnold Makes Shock Liverpool Decision – Report

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to end his 20-year association with the club after agreeing to join Real Madrid next summer.

The 26-year-old has been a long-time admirer of the Spanish giants and looks set to be a future replacement for captain Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vasquez for the right-back slot.

According to talkSPORT, Alexander-Arnold has agreed personal terms over a five-year deal worth in excess of £220,000-per-week and is set to seal his Bernabeu move on a free after Liverpool rejected an approach from the Spanish club in January.

The had been months of negotiations between the club and the player’s camp but the England international has now opted to move to Madrid where he’ll be playing his football in the 2025/26 term.

“I have always said I want to captain the club,” Alexander-Arnold addressed his future back in September 2024, according to Sky Sports.

“That is a goal of mine, whether that happens is out of my hands.

“The most important thing is always trophies. I want to win trophies.

“We were close to the title last season and we got a cup. The [quadruple] was on for a while I suppose.

“This season we are looking really good, it is still early days, but we need a lot of consistency.”

Alexander-Arnold will join close friend and England teammate Jude Bellingham who has been in phenomenal form for both club and country.
