Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah has admitted that he held serious talks with Saudi Pro League (SPL) officials before opting for a stay at the newly crowned EPL champions.
In the last two years, Salah has attracted huge interest from Saudi Arabia which saw Al Ittihad make a £150million bid in August 2023, which was rejected by the Reds.

The 32-year-old has since extended his stay for a further two years and revealed in a bombshell interview that there were ‘serious negotiations’ about him going to play in the Saudi league.
“I thought there was a good opportunity to join the Saudi League. I believed I might go there if I didn’t renew my contract with Liverpool,” Salah told On Sport.
“My relationship with people there [in Saudi Arabia] is still good and ongoing. There were serious negotiations to sign me.”
