Mozambique national team coach Chiquinho Conde has named the squad to face Bafana Bafana in an international friendly next month including South African based Edmilson Dove and Manuela Kambala.
The last time the sides met was in a friendly in November 2022 where the South Africans claimed a 2-1 win. The neighbours will rekindle rivalries in Pretoria on 10 June after Bafana’s match with Tanzania.
Dove had an indifferent season with Kaizer Chiefs where they finished the campaign in ninth place with 32 points but also broke their trophy spell wining the Nedbank Cup. Meanwhile Kambala helped Polokwane City finish their Betway Premiership term in seventh position with 34 points.
The sides will meet each other again in June at the COSAFA senior men’s tournament in Bloemfontein as they have been drawn in Group A along with Mauritius and Zimbabwe.
