Exclusive: CT City Offer Four Players To Sundowns

Cape Town City have offered Emile Witbooi, Shakeel April, Jaedin Rhodes and Jody Ah Shene to Mamelodi Sundowns.

This publication has been reliably informed that City offered the four young players to Sundowns and are valuing them at a massive R60 million.

However, even in case both clubs would find a club-to-club agreement, the players and Masandawana will still have to agree also on personal terms.

Witbooi (16), April (19), Ah Shene (20) and Rhodes (22) were seen as the future of City, but it seems the club are now keen on using the players to raise funds after their relegation to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Rhodes had made the most first-team appearances, with 87, scoring nine goals, while Ah Shene has featured 25 times, scoring twice. April has played 17 times for City, and Witbooi has made five.

Three out of the four players are currently in the structures of South Africa’s junior international teams. Witbooi is with the SA U17, and April and Ah Shane recently won the U20 AFCON with Amajita.

City was relegated a month ago after failing to win a single match in the PSL Promotion Playoffs. It remains to be seen if they will play in the Motsepe Foundation Championship or if they will get a new franchise.
