Stellenbosch are set to sign midfielder Thapelo Mokobodi from Marumo Gallants as they continue to bolster their squad for the 2025/26 season.
Mokobodi, 23, was one of the breakout talents from Gallants last season and racked up 25 appearances, in a six and eight role for the club as they finished in 10th place in the league, one point off the top eight spot.

His then-midfield partner Masindi Nemtajela recently secured a move to Orlando Pirates and Mokobodi is now set to make a move to the Cape Winelands after a club-to-club agreement was reached between Stellies and Gallants.
Personal terms have also been agreed, with the move now subject to final paperwork and a routine medical, before his official unveiling.
Steve Barker’s side have been active in the market with Muzomuhle Khanyi, Siviwe Nkwali and Henri Stanic already unveiled as new signings.
The club sold Fawaaz Basadien to Mamelodi Sundowns, while Ismael Toure, Tylon Smith and Faiz Abrahams joined FC Banyas, Queens Park Rangers and Hapoel Kfar Saba respectively.
Sihle Nduli also left on a free transfer, joining Orlando Pirates, while Liam de Kock, Thulani Mini, Shaakir Ahmed, and Brian Onyango were released.
