Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Muhammad Carrim has joined Belgian Challenger Pro League side Patro Eisden Maasmechelen.
The 23-year-old spent five years at the club after being lured from the academy system of Bidvest Wits in 2018 but never managed to make his first team debut and spent time at Black Leopards and M Tigers whilst also featuring for Wits in the Varsity Football tournament.

Carrim was touted as one of the most exciting prospects upon his arrival where he was scouted in the Future Champions tournament as a technically gifted defender capable of playing in a defensive midfield or box-to-box role.
After leaving Sundowns, he made the journey to Europe with Alcorcón in Spain over the past couple of seasons.
However, he’s now joined the second-tier Belgian side after impressing during pre-season, where he’s earned a contract for the 2025/26 season, marking a major step in his professional career.
The Johannesburg-born talent joins the likes of Shandre Campbell (Club Brugge) and Kurt Abrahams (SK Beveren) as the South African contingent in the country.
