Former Orlando Pirates attacker Mohau Nkota believes that the side’s new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou needs to shuffle things in the midfield after the opening loss to Sekhukhune United.
Nkota watched his former side lose 1-0 to Sekhukhune United from the stands at Orlando Stadium on Saturday, the first time he has been home after sealing a move to Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League.
The 20-year-old says coach Ouaddou, who received plenty of criticism for his selections and tactics, has a lot of arsenal at his disposal and should ring in the changes, especially ahead of the sold-out MTN8 semi-final against Mamelodi Sundowns.
“I wished I could come onto the pitch,” joked Nkota on Sports Night Amplified with Andile Ncube.
“But they played well. They played well it’s just the opportunities and I think most of the time they played the ball at the back. I think the coach needs to shuffle, he must shuffle the midfield.
“You have a lot of players in the midfield. Because there is a big game [MTN8 semi-final] coming ahead of them.
“For me you have a lot of quality on the bench even up there on the stands. I’m not a coach but if I was one you’d also strangle me. There is a lot of quality, too much.”
Pirates return to action on Tuesday evening when they will face Ouaddou’s former side Marumo Gallants at 19:30.
