Mamelodi Sundowns teenage sensation Bennet Mokoena is fully focused and committed to the club amidst the excitement around the latest academy product breaking through into the first team.
Mokoena, 19, netted a staggering 22 goals to win the DStv Diski Challenge Golden Boot last season which showcased his undeniable potential to breakthrough in the ranks at Sundowns.

He ended that campaign finding the net against Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig in their end of season tour which further rose his status as one of the most promising talents in the country.
Having been part of Sundowns’ pre-season tour in Austria, the teenager has featured in all five of their opening games of the season, in which three of them were starts under head coach Miguel Cardoso.
iDiski Times were informed that Sundowns and Mokoena have agreed terms on a new contract as he now enters a new stage of his career and reached out to his representatives at ProSport International for comment.
“We’ve done a new deal for him [last year], which has committed his mid-term future to Sundowns and he’s just turned 19,” his representative Mike Makaab confirmed to iDiski Times.
“I see his future at Sundowns but I also see Bennet as a precocious talent, that if he makes the right progress in line with his potential, I think he can end up playing at a major football club [abroad].
“He has the youthful arrogance about him – he can play in spaces; there’s things that can improve but it will come with time.
“I was incredibly impressed with how he handled the crowd and the occasion in the recent game against Kaizer Chiefs, I’m super excited about his future – really exciting.”
Mokoena will be aiming to retain his place in the Sundowns starting line-up this week when they host AmaZulu at Loftus Versfeld on Wednesday evening (19h30).
