Former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Thapelo Maseko as well as South African left-back Gift Links have learnt about their opponents in this year’s UEFA Conference League.
Maseko secured his move to the Danish giants two weeks ago and made his European debut on Thursday in Copenhagen’s 4-1 win over Inter Turku.
As a consequence, Copenhagen booked their ticket in the Conference League league phase, where they were drawn against Portuguese side Braga from pot one.
They also face Crvena Zvezda (Serbia), Lugano (Switzerland), U. Craiova (Romania), Inter Escaldes (Albania) and Iberia Tbilisi (Georgia)
Meanwhile, Links’ AGF lost 6-2 on aggregate to Portuguese giants Benfica in the Europa League playoff, which saw them drop into the Conference League.
They, too, will face Braga (Portugal), Gent (Belgium), Twente (Netherlands), Brann (Norway), Inter Escaldes (Andorra) and Egnatia (Albania).
Matchday one of the Conference League league phase will kick off on 15 October, with the match day six set for 17 December. This seasons’ final is set for 2 June in Istanbul.
