Relebohile Mofokeng and his new side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise have learnt their UEFA Europa League opponents during Friday’s draw.
USG were knocked out from the UEFA Champions League qualifiers by Bodo/Glimt and dropped into the league phase of the Europa League.
The Belgian side were placed in pot two and have received some interesting opponents, facing LaLiga club Real Sociedad and Ligue 1’s Olympique Lyon from pot one.
The other teams drawn against USG are Scottish giants Celtic, Turkish side Besiktas, LaLiga team Celta Vigo, Czech side Viktoria Plzen, Polish Lech Poznan and Israeli club Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
Meanwhile, Mihlali Mayambela’s Omonia were drawn against Benfica, Juventus, Celtic, Rennes, Celta Vigo, Celje, Besiktas and NEC.
The League phase kicks off on 16/17 September and will run until 28 January 2027.
