Siwelele Snap Up Sundowns Defender

Siwelele FC have signed Mamelodi Sundowns defender Kegan Johannes on a season-long loan.

Siwelele seemed to be getting their season off to a great note when they beat Golden Arrows 3-1 in their league opener but have since gone winless in six matches catapulting them to a precarious 14th position.

The club has already rung technical changes following the departure of CEO Stan Matthews and assistant coach Andre Arendse who have been replaced by Lerato Kholoanyane and Willem Jackson respectively.

Johannes, 24, joined Sundowns in July 2024 from SuperSport United and has so played just over 230 minutes since joining Sundowns. In his brief journey at Sundowns, he has won the Betway Premiership title but has found it hard to nail down a regular starting berth.

Lehlohonolo Seema’s side looks to wrap the deal as soon as possible with the transfer window set to close today, 22nd September.

Siwelele find themselves in 15th place, after they collected four points after seven games, and conceded nine goals.
