Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou says it’s too early to speak about Relebohile Mofokeng’s injury and whether he will be ready for national team duty.
The 20-year-old was stretchered off just after the hour mark in what would be a major concern from Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos ahead of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Rwanda.

He’s part of the 23-man squad and seven of his Pirates teammates that will be joining national team camp in the next couple of days and while the Pirates coach was pleased with his performance, he admitted, there’s not much he can reveal at this point.
“To be honest, for now, we just finished the game, I cannot tell you anything about Rele – I think he played one hour and did well,” Ouaddou said.
“I’m happy with what he did, we will see the issue, we will see if he is okay or not [for Bafana Bafana] but for me, he played one hour – I don’t have much to say about that.”
Mofokeng has featured 101 times for Pirates team since his first team promotion in July 2023, scoring 18 goals with 22 assists.
