Broos Runs The Rule On Makgalwa & Nemtajela

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos says Keletso Makgalwa and Masindi Nemtajela’s minutes against Zambia will depend on how the game is going at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Broos reiterated that it’s a friendly game they want to win heading to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations next month and to continue improving their rankings in FIFA – after securing their ticket to the World Cup in 2026.

Nemtajela and Makgalwa were the two new faces in the squad, as he looked to the Orlando Pirates and Sekhukhune United talents for a final look before the continental showpiece in Morocco.

“That depends a bit on how the game will go – I want to win the game, and if we have the opportunity to give them some minutes, or more minutes to play, we will certainly do it,” Broos said.

“But again I’m already happy that I called them up – and I could watch them closely everyday and their attitudes, how they work in training, to see their talent and quality, because the difference in level every week, and what they felt in training, if you’d ask them, in the beginning, they would have been surprised.

“Quicker, technically asking more from players, therefore it was good for them to be here and they had the opportunity to train with us, so we have a better idea and report on them than before this week – so again, if we have the chance, if the game goes well for us, they will certainly have some minutes of playing time.”

The game against the Chipolopolo – who have also qualified for the AFCON in Morocco kicks off at 15h00.
