Richards Bay are set to reach an agreement with Stellenbosch FC for winger Sanele Barns, iDiski Times can confirm.
This publication has learnt that Bay are close to reaching an agreement with the Cape Winelands side for Barns on a permanent move. The Natal Rich Boyz are set to pay an undisclosed transfer fee for their former player.
Barns joined Stellies from Bay in July 2024 and helped the side to reach the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals and two MTN8 finals.
The 28-year-old made 68 appearances across all competitions for Stellies, scoring seven goals and laying six assists, with 22 appearances coming from this campaign.
His return to the Natal Rich Boyz comes a bit as a surprise but Bay are aiming to improve their squad as well as chances to qualify for the MTN8.
