The 41-year-old who had been working in the second-tier with Casric Stars has returned to the Free State, where his legendary Premier Soccer League took off, during a decade long stint at the now-defunct Bloemfontein Celtic.
Known as ‘Mr Cool’, Nthethe was a unique, modern centre back with composure and the ability to play out of defence with ease, which saw him break into the senior national team and eventually earn a move to Mamelodi Sundowns – where he was part of the 2016 CAF Champions League triumph.
Siwelele confirmed Nthethe forms part of their new-look academy staff, with Mike Sebola and Lebo Lebese with the U14s and U15s respectively.
