Beganovic On Ex Chiefs Talent Nkosi’s Situation

TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic has shed light on the situation of promising midfielder Ntandoyenkosi Nkosi and his lack of game-time since his arrival from Kaizer Chiefs.

Nkosi, 21, joined Galaxy from Chiefs and was widely expected to hit the ground running, having captained the Chiefs DStv Diski Challenge squad to the league title last season.

The likes of Samukele Kabini, Khulumani Ndamane and Puso Dithejane have shown the step from reserve team to professional football to become full senior internationals in the space of two seasons at Galaxy, with all three earning career changing lucrative transfers since.

But Nkosi has featured just 11 minutes this season, finding it tough to break into the Rockets starting line-up in midfield.

“There’s a preparation period for all young players but it is not always on us, some players need more time, some players need less time, some come in an adapt immediately in a few training sessions, to periodasation and everything we do,” Beganovic said.

“He has great ability, skill, he’s improved since he arrived until now and in the future we will count on him more, we will give him time to show himself in the game.

“But in the end, as all young players, he needs to improve, take opportunities and show yes, I’m that player who can play and stay in the team.

“It’s on him, but what I have seen since the start of this season, he has great ability, beautiful passing range, understands the game, a real fighter, and the desire.

“In the future he can be [important] but it’s up to him – until the end of the season to show up.”
